"Fauci" single from Cloud Minus 9 and Metanym

"Fauci" single from Cloud Minus 9 and Metanym

What happens when Daft Punk collides with the pandemic? The result is a high-energy tribute to the electronic kings with a vocal treatment of Dr. Fauci that is at once both highly entertaining and very strangely disturbing. Fuzzy is all on board with political songs, which is not necessarily the intent of these two bands, but it ends up being a kind of an entertaining political commentary of the very strange lockdown times we find ourselves in. Check out "Fauci" from the collaboration of Cloud Minus 9 and Metanym:

The song drops on October 9 on all streaming platforms.

From the bands:

Described as a math-rock Daft Punk-meets-Tool hybrid, “Fauci” reimagines the eponymous infectious disease expert giving pithy, vocodered COVID advice over a mammoth bass-line, angular melodic guitar riffs, and tightly-wound drum beats with driving time changes. Catchy hooks, head-nodding riffs, silky-smooth guitar solos, and common-sense pandemic advice – this track crams all of it and them some into two-and-a-half minutes of relentless modern prog, that rips off the steering wheel and stares you down in an intense game of musical chicken.

Metanym and Cloud Minus 9

Cloud Minus 9 (CM-9) is a Minneapolis-based solo artist, who creates guitar-oriented, instrumental post/prog/math/something rock music. Originally from a small town in the north of England, he emigrated to the U.S. in 2015, and composes music that combines his experiences existing across a cultural divide.

Metanym is a multi-instrumentalist from Lincolnshire (UK), who makes use of modern music production tools to create post-rock soundscapes, with the occasional electronic influence.
