Satanic stoner metal "Quanaxhuato" from SANTO FUZZ

Satanic stoner metal "Quanaxhuato" from SANTO FUZZ

There's been so much great stoner metal from Mexico this year (check out The Swamp's CACTUS ROJO, ELECTRIC CULT, 3DEMONS, and VELJET) and released today is another album to add to the list: "Quanaxhuato" from SANTO FUZZ. This is nearly an hour of heavy psych with excellent guitar work, and especially the vocals stand out on this album. The vocals include singing, growls, background chants, and they are layered together to give support the heavy psych vibes. There is a slight lo-fi vibe to this recording, and that's a good thing. Listen to "Quanaxhuato" from Santo Fuzz on Bandcamp at:

Some of the highlights: heavy metal riffs on "El Truco," mind-bending vocals on "Usurero Del Baratillo", and simply satanic worship on the title track.

Oh yea, you might have noticed all the vocals are in Spanish, which is perfect for this style of music.

Santo Fuzz band is from Guanajuato, Mexico. Santo Fuzz began as a one man band from September 4th 2020 to November 2021 formed by Agustín Ramírez, and now the band has two members with an anonymous man in the drums.

From the band:
Santo Fuzz is a Stoner Doom Metal & Occult Psychedelic Rock Band with regional mexican music influences that show horror folk stories, bad trips and classic terror movies of the "Cine de Oro Mexicano" in the lyrics.

Hey did I already mention this album clocks in at nearly an hour? What are you waiting for? Grab a copy and follow the band on Bandcamp at https://santofuzz.bandcamp.com/album/quanaxhuato

Blues rock ACID ALICE signs with Aonair Records with "The Road"

ACID ALICE "The Road"
ACID ALICE "The Road"
AONAIR RECORDS has just signed ACID ALICE with a blues rock sound straight from the late 60s but with a completely fresh sound. These songs deliver all the best of that era without any of the excess or missteps that albums from that bygone era sometimes had. The guitar work, the vocals, the passion for a sound that still lives on .... this is just flat-out a great album. Check out "The Road" debut album from Acid Alice:

"The Road" blasts out of the gate on "Acid Horse" with blistering guitar work and bluesy vocals. The guitar and vocal work makes a powerful combination that delivers all the way through this album. The blues rock sound is less like the Southern rock of the 70s and more like the blues rock from Los Angeles in the late 60s. Wherever and whenever doesn't really matter anyway -- this just flat out rocks!

The guitar work is so incredible on this thing. Just check out the intro to "In My Memory" for proof of that. Speaking of that song, the vocals out-do themselves. And the band knows it's in the 21st century, with just a touch of fuzz to bring the blues rock from another generation to music fans of today.

One thing Fuzzy really digs is that Acid Alice keeps the energy level up. Some bands would be tempted to slow it down in parts or take a break, but this album rocks & rolls from start to finish.

Fantastic music, great production, and wonderful songs. Check out Acid Alice!

Mrs. Cracklins Happy Hour mini-review:
I will happily listen to this everyday.
From the band (by way of Google Translate):
Rock band influenced by music from the 60s and 70s, whose main ideology is to rescue musical and ideological styles that they consider lost, as well as to build atmospheres that remind us of the old glories of rock.
Acid Alice band is from Mexico City with members:
  • Mark Mc'Fuzz: Guitarra Principal/Lead Guitar
  • Darcy Core: Voz/Vox
  • Hector Vamartz: Batería/Drums
  • Dankoi Marco: Bajo/Bass
ACID ALICE just signed with Aonair Records. This album and this band deserve more attention and now they'll get it. Be sure to check out the Aonair Presents Vol. 1 stoner comp for more great music.

Fuzz rock 3DEMONS debut EP "Desierto Cósmico"

3DEMONS debut EP "Desierto Cósmico"
3DEMONS debut EP "Desierto Cósmico"
With bands like BOG MONKEY and DEAD PANDA in The Swamp, it's no surprise that Fuzzy digs the heavy fuzz-out instrumental tones of 3DEMONS. This skate trio out of CDMX unleashes an ultra high energy blend of fuzz, punk, metal, stoner, rock and wild guitar solos. Feast your earholes on the cosmic desert sounds of 3Demons:

3Demons band is from Mexico City with members:

  • Diego Larios - Guitar
  • Amadeus Gogo - Drums
  • Scar Racs - Bass

From the band:
We're from Coyoacan, a neighborhood in the south part of the Mexico City. Started by Diego a couple years ago, the real sound and the songs came together when Gogo and Scar, two of Diego's friends, joined him in this fuzzy trip by jamming freely and giving structure to some riffs he made up influenced by American and Greek stoner bands.
With everyone's different influences the 3Demons were born.

"3 3 3" by 3 WHEELER BAND is a heavy rocker from Mexico

"3 3 3" by 3 WHEELER BAND
"3 3 3" by 3 WHEELER BAND
This is turning out to be a great week for music from bands from Mexico. Yesterday was the the new EP from FALSO CORDERO and today is the EP from this summer by 3 WHEELER BAND. "3 3 3" is three tracks of flat-out heavy rock with the tough vocals you know will punch the sound out in any club. Listening to this EP makes you want to see this guys at their live show. They have captured the raw energy from their shows on these studio tracks and you can hear it in the songs. Check out "3 3 3" from 3 Wheeler Band:

3 Wheeler Band plays this Saturday along with THE DARK SILENCE OF DEATH (another killer band) in Monterrey.

3 Wheeler Band is:
Adrian G. - Guitars and Vox
Davo C. - Bass
Jose M. - Drums

FALSO CORDERO new EP "ALTARE" goes darker

FALSO CORDERO new EP "ALTARE"
FALSO CORDERO new EP "ALTARE"
FALSO CORDERO has a track on my 420 "Blood Moon God" comp from their debut EP, and today they're back with a 3-track EP "ALTARE" that takes their instrumental stoner doom even heavier and darker. I really dig this band so check out their new songs:

From the band:
Un trabajo mas maduro y denso de parte nuestra , espero lo disfruten
A more mature and dense work on our part, I hope you enjoy it

THE DARK SILENCE OF DEATH debut album is better than the 70s hard rock

THE DARK SILENCE OF DEATH
THE DARK SILENCE OF DEATH
Take one of your favorite 70s hard rock albums, and peel off that extra layer of over-production so many of them were covered with, and you will have THE DARK SILENCE OF DEATH'S debut album. 40 minutes and 8 tracks of the kind of heavy hard-hitting rock you think you remember from the 70s until you go back and realize those albums spent a few too many months in post-production. Don't get me wrong -- this debut album is not lo-fi or garage. Not even close. It has full production quality without going that extra step with just a little too much perfection on the guitar or a slightly under-mixed bass. Or the dreaded "pretty" vocals. This album is downright evil at times, and in fact it sets you up so that by the time you get to the next to last track, you are glad to receive the nasty sludge thrown at you at the very end. This is an album you can get your "I like hard rock" friends to listen to, and then get them sucked into the world of the heavy underground. This is a great album.

One hallmark of a great 70s rock album is its flow. Starts off hard, gets louder, backs off and slows down a little, only to pick it back up and hammer it home at the end. And man, this album has all that without any of the songs making you reach for the SKIP button.

A little extra about the vocals. The band sings in English despite being from Mexico, and the sound is simply incredible. Rough and a little evil without getting into growling. Really excellent. Mrs. Cracklins is out of town this week but she will also dig this album for sure when she gets back.

As is very often the case, a great debut album is the result of veteran musicians coming from other bands, including Fool Magician. The Dark Silence of Death's current lineup is:
Viejo Macabro: Guitar
Javo Monzon: Vocals
Vader: Bass
Juan Carlos: Drums
This album is an absolute bargain at $1 right now on Bandcamp. Hurry up and add this hard rock gem to your collection.

Saturno Grooves -- Solar Hawk album review by Fuzzy Cracklins

Saturno Grooves -- Solar Hawk
Saturno Grooves -- Solar Hawk

One of the (many) crazy things about America is the geography. In less than a day, you can drive from the mostly-water lowland swamps of Lafayette, Louisiana to the mile-high arid desert in Durango, Colorado. Listen for free and read Fuzzy Cracklin's music review of the desert rock stoner album Solar Hawk by Saturno Grooves below....
