Fuzzy is tripping out on the new krautrock album "Escape From Moronia" from Germany's Highest Primzahl On Mars. This is psych rock of the highest order -- plenty of chugging guitar grooves, instrumental vibes, outer space melodies, and plenty of theremin!

RECOMMENDED: Debut desert rock EP "Suck Me In Demo" by Lightning Mushrooms

Debut desert rock EP "Suck Me In Demo" by Lightning Mushrooms

Fuzzy is re-locating The Swamp to the Mojave Desert (Vegas, baby!) so I've only got time for quick reviews these days. But I don't want you to miss the debut EP from Germany's LIGHTNING MUSHROOMS. The music here is pure desert / stoner in the best possible style, with easy-going riffs, bright guitars, and doses of fuzz applied when needed. The vocals are the stand-out element here, because they are angrier, rougher, and edgier than you might expect with such groovy stoner tunes. But it all goes together very well, and the end result is heavy psych blues-tinged affair. Fuzzy digs it! Check out "Suck Me In Demo" by Lightning Mushrooms on Bandcamp:

DuneGazer debut album "...and the desert opened its maw" is modern grunge

Grunge is a musical style that deserves to live forever, and I'm glad that the debut album from Germany's DUNEGAZER has arrived to carry on the grunge torch. "...and the desert opened its maw" is 40 minutes of the rawest, roughest, edgiest kind of grunge that always keeps it fresh and original. With extended instrumental sections but also with unique vocals (a requirement of grunge), DuneGazer delivers the grungy goods. Have a listen to "...and the desert opened its maw":

As much as I like the vocals, I especially dig the long instrumental sections. "Droughnought" is a good example of that. DuneGazer is taking the best of the original grunge sound of the late 80s and early 90s, but giving it a fresh sound with these long parts which give the trio a chance to show off their mastery of the sound.

FFO: Mudhoney, Soundgarden, Alice in Chains, Nirvana with a modern sound with extended instrumentals.

DuneGazer is:
× Paco
× Ruben
× Jascha
From the band:
Dune Gazer is a 3-piece rock band from Oldenburg. Basically, the three musicians came together from much tougher genres, but together they discovered their passion for the crazy sound of the 70s and combined it with other subtle influences from stoner rock and shoegaze to form their own variant, between brutal, in fuzz soaked, sound walls and weightless, melodic clean parts changes.

SONIC SLOTH debut album is 50 minutes of prog doom psych you cannot miss

SONIC SLOTH debut album
SONIC SLOTH debut album
I first heard SONIC SLOTH more than 6 months ago when I bumped into them on Soundcloud and asked them to get at me when their debut album dropped. And here it is. UNREAL is the word to describe this instrumental psych album with some doom heaviness and also prog energy. What a great sound these guys have. And this ain't no EP -- this is FIFTY minutes of great music. Take a listen to SONIC SLOTH:

SONIC SLOTH is a trio from Hanau, Germany including Marco Rehwald (guitar), Daniel Schäfer (bass), and Malte Denecke (drums).

And that album cover is so great! It is by Jo Riou. Go hit their Bandcamp page and get the shirt! (and a CD too while you are there).

RISE OF THE ASTROPHANT is the heavy riffing debut album from Germany's SLEEPING CHILD

RISE OF THE ASTROPHANT debut album by SLEEPING CHILD
RISE OF THE ASTROPHANT debut album by SLEEPING CHILD
Germany's SLEEPING CHILD's debut album RISE OF THE ASTROPHANT delivers on the promise of their 4-track EP from earlier this year, and goes even heavier with the riffs without giving up the stoner melodies. The beautiful vocals are still front and center, too. This is a super solid heavy rocker from start to finish. Love that album art, too. Listen below and also check out the video I did for HIGH RUNNER.

One Earth One Bong by EARTHBONG slow stoner doom riffs music review by Fuzzy Cracklins

One Earth One Bong by EARTHBONG slow stoner doom riffs music review by Fuzzy Cracklins
One Earth One Bong by EARTHBONG
Do you like your doom doomy? and your slow heavy riffs slow? Then EARTHBONG has the music you need to hear! Their sound is slow and heavy and mostly instrumental. How slow and heavy? Take a listen --

Some very nice low rumbling vocals, and some very choice samples. All laid over those slow heavy riffs. Pack a bowl and start listening.

What is so great about One Earth One Bong is how long and heavy these tracks are. Nothing is less than 13 minutes on here. More than enough time to prepare your medications, take your medications, let them take a hold of you mind, and still have plenty of time left over to have a safe flight into outer space. Or inner space.

EARTHBONG is a three-piece heavy rock stoner doom band from Kiel, Germany. The band was founded in May 2018 by bassist/vocalist Selly, guitarist Ogo and drummer Tommy. Unsatisfied with the lack of heaviness in their other bands they started writing songs after a few jams and released a two-song Demo in September, which shows the direction the band is heading towards: slow and heavy riffing combined with some sludgy vocals that come crawling out of the noise sometimes. Their debut record, "One Earth One Bong" came out December 22nd 2018 containing four uncompromisingly heavy songs, each of them riff- and weed worshipping in another way, a loud and slow prayer to the unknown beyond the smoke.
Check out EARTHBONG at all these places:

Fuzzy is pleased to announce Earthbong dropped a track on this month's Bandcamp compilation. You can hear the whole album right here -- and there's a lot of great music on it!
